Mohali, March 25 — Mohali police have booked Pastor Bajinder Singh for allegedly assaulting a 35-year-old woman pastor at his church in Baroudi village, New Chandigarh, on February 14. The action came after a purported video of the incident circulating on social media was verified.

The victim, who was accompanied by a man and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, alleged that Singh slapped her, grabbed her throat, and pushed her when she objected to his behavior.

According to the victim, the altercation occurred while Singh was meeting with a man whose sister had stopped attending the church. She claimed Singh suspected her of influencing the family to withdraw their daughter.

The woman recorded her statement before DSP City 1 Mohit Aggarwal at Mullanpur police station. She also alleged that Singh’s supporters have been threatening her on social media. “My life is under threat,” she said.
