He maintained that thirteen individuals had already been arrested in connection with the case. The Prime Minister affirmed that the guilty should face severe punishment to serve as a strong warning against future wrongdoing.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju declared that the immediate detention of the accused highlights the government’s firm commitment to protecting students. The government organized a swift re-examination, ensuring that the results were declared on schedule to minimize disruption for medical aspirants. Rijiju stated that these decisive actions reflect the administration’s goal to ensure smooth conduct of tests and maintain trust in national examinations.
The controversy arose after reports emerged regarding leaked question sets prior to the examination, prompting central authorities to intervene promptly. Following official review, a re-examination was successfully conducted across the country, leading to the qualification of more than eleven lakh candidates for medical, dental, and AYUSH programs. The examination body affirmed the reliability of its evaluation systems and reassured students of the complete integrity of the process.
