CHANDIGARH: In recognition of Punjab’s evolving role in international sports, the Asian Hockey Federation invited Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to Japan for the hockey semi-finals and finals at the Asian Games. The invitation highlights Punjab’s preparation to host top Asian hockey teams—including India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and China—for the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2026.
The Asian Hockey Federation maintained that observing the Aichi-Nagoya Games will assist the delegation in applying continental standards to the upcoming matches in Jalandhar and Mohali. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that the upcoming continental tournament reflects the state’s commitment to reviving its rich sports legacy. The federation requested details regarding the official delegation to complete travel and event logistics.
