ZIRAKPUR, July 27 — Marking a major milestone in the state’s public education sector, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann felicitated 882 government school students who qualified the NEET 2026 examination during a special event. The Chief Minister stated that sustained investments in free coaching, structured mentorship, and modern classroom infrastructure have empowered local students to compete effectively at the national level.
Data released during the ceremony indicated that out of the 882 successful qualifiers from state-run schools, 686 are girls and 340 belong to the Scheduled Caste community, demonstrating significant progress in inclusive education access across the region.
“The meritorious students of Punjab Government schools have once again proved that when children are given opportunities and access to quality education, no dream is beyond their reach. For the first time this year, 882 students from our government schools have qualified the NEET examination, creating history,” declared Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Chief Minister maintained that transparency in public recruitment has restored public faith in state institutions. He affirmed that job selections across all government departments are conducted strictly according to candidate performance, encouraging youth to stay and build their careers within the state.
“Merit alone decides government jobs in Punjab. More than 68,000 government jobs have already been provided to youth through a completely transparent recruitment process. There is no recommendation, no bribery and no favouritism,” asserted Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Reaffirming the state’s commitment to academic standards, the Chief Minister stated that Punjab will continue to expand specialized coaching programs like PACE and invest in advanced teacher training to ensure state schools remain leaders in academic performance nationwide.
