Chandigarh, July 20: Two individuals linked to organized crime networks in Punjab and Haryana were taken into custody in Angola following a joint security operation involving state police units and central intelligence agencies.
The apprehended individuals include Varinder, alias Joban Saidoke, who was wanted in relation to four major murder investigations in Punjab, and Manjot, who faced criminal charges in Haryana. Both individuals had been residing overseas while remaining under active investigation.
The international operation relied on actionable intelligence shared among the Haryana Special Task Force, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and Punjab law enforcement, leading to the tracking of the fugitives’ movements.
“The apprehension follows months of systematic tracking and continuous engagement with international law enforcement channels,” a police spokesperson affirmed. “Legal formalities are underway to complete their extradition at the earliest.”
Indian authorities confirmed that formal legal steps have commenced to transport both individuals back to India to appear before relevant judicial forums.
