Lucknow: The state administration has launched a broad-scale urban expansion program in Lucknow with the ground-breaking ceremony for the Lucknow Development Authority’s Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar housing schemes. Spanning more than ten thousand acres with a total project valuation of twelve thousand crore rupees, the developments aim to provide planned residential space, electricity, water, and road infrastructure for up to ten lakh people across the capital region.
Alongside the overall layout launch, registration opened for 4,520 individual plots, and foundation stones were placed for five high-rise complexes worth over two thousand one hundred crore rupees across Anant Nagar, Sharda Nagar Extension, and surrounding sectors. The Chief Minister stated that planned urban layouts are vital to prevent irregular land sales and waterlogging, maintaining that the state capital is rapidly establishing itself as an education, healthcare, and high-tech manufacturing hub supported by projects like the AI City and the Green Corridor.
Emphasizing equitable development, official statements affirmed that complete administrative transparency has been enforced for property acquisition, ensuring farmers receive direct bank payouts without middleman fees. Strategic connectivity upgrades were also declared for the expanding zones, including four-lane highway access linking Lucknow to Sitapur, direct link roads to the Purvanchal Expressway, and broader regional integration under the State Capital Region initiative covering surrounding districts.
