New Delhi, August 6: A comprehensive protection system under the Emigration Act continues to provide round-the-clock assistance to Indian workers deployed abroad, according to details presented in Parliament on Thursday.
The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that 10,293 citizens availed assistance through the Indian Community Welfare Fund in 2025, backed by dedicated Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendras operating in domestic and international centers.
“The government has established multi-tiered mechanisms to ensure Indian emigrants have seamless access to emergency aid and legal counsel,” asserted Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh in a parliamentary reply.
Official records indicate that regional assistance centers operating in major cities supplement Indian diplomatic missions to provide guidance to migrant workers. Authorities affirmed that institutional support, backed by bilateral agreements, ensures quick intervention for distressed nationals across global jurisdictions.
