Sirsa, June 19 : Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini stated that yoga is a priceless offering from India’s Sanatan culture, given by the nation’s sages to humanity for the benefit of the whole world. Yoga, which originated thousands of years ago, has now taken on a global presence. He said yoga is more than just a physical practice; it is a holistic lifestyle that links the body, mind, soul, and society.
On Friday, the Chief Minister spoke at a yoga practice event held in observance of International Yoga Day, at the Main Dham of Baba Bhuman Shah, situated in the village of Baba Bhuman Shah ( Sangar Sarista) in Sirsa district. While participating in the programme, he presented shawls to Guru Maharaj Baba Brahm Dass Ji and Mahant Mahesh Muni Maharaj of Kurukshetra.
He stated that he felt profound peace and uplifting energy during his visit to Dera Baba Bhuman Shah Ashram, a spiritual center located on this holy ground.
In his speech, the Chief Minister stated that the whole world will observe International Yoga Day on June 21. In this regard, yoga practice programs are being arranged in various districts of Haryana. He stated that yoga has achieved international recognition thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. Thanks to his relentless dedication, the United Nations General Assembly designated June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014. Back then, 177 countries backed the proposal, and now nearly every country in the world has adopted yoga.
The Chief Minister stated that from New York’s Times Square and Paris’s Eiffel Tower to Tokyo and Toronto, India’s spiritual legacy is gaining worldwide acclaim through yoga. He said this is India’s strength, built not by military force but through penance, culture, and spiritual values.
He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Yogasana has been granted the status of a sport and incorporated into the Khelo India Youth Games under the leadership of Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister’s messages such as ‘ Khelega Bharat to Khilega Bharat’ and ‘ Yoga Ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz’ have inspired people throughout the country.
India’s global prestige has increased over the past 12 years due to development and yoga The Chief Minister remarked that it’s a pleasant coincidence that this year’s International Yoga Day falls during a time when the Union Government, led by Prime Minister Sh., is in power. Narendra Modi is marking 12 years in office. Over this period, India has made significant strides in infrastructure, technology, and economic growth, while also demonstrating to the world how yoga can lead to mental tranquility and improved health.
He stated that the 12-year journey of development and the worldwide expansion of yoga demonstrate the increasing strength and global leadership of New India.
