Chandigarh, June 10: Young corporate innovators throughout Punjab received a substantial financial boost Tuesday as part of a state-wide directive to convert regional business concepts into job-creating enterprises. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann facilitated the distribution of ₹1.07 crore in direct initial subsidies to 31 separate startup operations, declaring that the provincial government will firmly intervene to ensure lack of capital does not eliminate entrepreneurial ambitions.
The industrial department noted that the corporate selections span vital economic sectors, including manufacturing, textiles, digital governance, and specialized agricultural technology. Government representatives stated that the modern blueprint seeks to systematically shift the local population from seeking traditional employment to establishing new commercial ventures.
“The Punjab Government will not allow the dreams of young entrepreneurs to be crushed due to lack of funds,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed. “Under the Startup and Industrial Policy 2026, the Seed Grant amount has been increased from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh. Our vision is to encourage young people to become job creators instead of job seekers.”
The Chief Minister affirmed that the state has recently prioritized creative solutions across all administrative branches, citing local energy initiatives like daylight agricultural power delivery and 300 units of free residential electricity as functional examples of structural progress. He noted that corporate entities established by individuals with regional roots, such as Flipkart, Ola, and Zomato, have repeatedly shown global competency, and the state now requires that similar successes be constructed locally.
Mann asserted that traditional political organizations historically plundered state assets, entirely neglecting the regional business environment during their lengthy terms. He noted that the electorate permanently altered the regional trajectory during the 2022 assembly elections by replacing multiple former leaders with a dedicated, transparent government.
“Many successful companies in India and across the world have been founded or co-founded by Punjabis,” Mann asserted. “They are not merely running businesses, they are shaping the future of Punjab. These 31 startups will create new employment opportunities and open doors for thousands of young people across Punjab.”
The state administration is actively urging corporate recipients to position themselves as direct economic representatives for the territory on international platforms. Mann stated that the local government is prepared to offer continued operational guidance, comparing the early-stage corporate allowances to the vital nutrients required to stabilize a young seed before it transforms into a highly productive asset.
