State Panel Holds Dialogue With Farmer Representatives in Chandigarh

High-level discussions address legislative resolutions and regional policy issues

Chandigarh: Ministers Gurmeet Singh Khudian and Dr. Balbir Singh convened a joint meeting with farmer leadership at Punjab Bhawan to discuss a multi-point charter of demands presented by the United Kisan Morcha. The meeting brought together 25 representatives from participating farm unions to evaluate state-level policy solutions and administrative measures. The talks follow sustained coordination between administrative officials and union organizers to establish a structured dialogue process.

 

During the session, farm leaders reiterated the need for legislative deliberation regarding historical river water sharing clauses and local agricultural policies. Government representatives declared that the administration remains committed to engaging constructively with agricultural stakeholders to address state-specific grievances. Officials affirmed that the outcomes of the scheduled talks will help guide subsequent steps regarding state-level resolutions and the ongoing public sit-in.
