Panchkula, April 21: Sudha Bhardwaj will lead the Congress party’s bid for the Panchkula mayoralty in the scheduled May 10 municipal elections. The announcement followed a selection process that involved 12 potential candidates, according to District President Sanjay Chauhan. Bhardwaj previously headed the Haryana Mahila Congress and has been an active figure in the party’s organizational structure.
The candidacy aims to revitalize the party’s presence in the municipal corporation. She declared that her priority is to address the deterioration of civic facilities that has affected local residents.
“You see the condition of Panchkula. It has deteriorated so much,” Sanjiv Bhardwaj asserted while discussing the campaign’s direction. He maintained that the party high command chose a candidate with a track record of selfless service to the public.
With the nomination period opening this week, the political landscape in Panchkula is shifting as the BJP prepares its own list of ward and mayoral candidates. BJP officials stated that they remain focused on their agenda of development and transparency. Sudha Bhardwaj stated that she is ready to engage the public on issues of urban governance and the overall welfare of the city’s families.
