Strategy Outweighs Resources, Says Iranian Speaker

Strait of Hormuz closed as Revolutionary Guard warns of hostile approaches

Tehran, April 19: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf affirmed that the use of indirect tactics and unconventional planning allowed Iran to push back the United States during recent military escalations. Ghalibaf stated that although the U.S. has more money and resources, their military designs are often flawed by a lack of strategic correctiveness and a misunderstanding of the region.

The enemy had money and resources, but they did not act correctly in terms of design, Ghalibaf asserted during his remarks. He noted that the United States possesses more experience in warfare due to its frequent foreign interventions but maintained that this did not guarantee success against Iran’s asymmetric approach. Ghalibaf stated that Tehran’s firm stance on the battlefield was the primary factor that led to the acceptance of their ceasefire terms.

Regarding the strategic maritime situation, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has ordered all vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman to remain in place. Authorities declared that any ships approaching the Strait of Hormuz would be treated as hostile following the decision to shut the waterway to commercial traffic. Ghalibaf stated that Iranian forces would respond immediately if the status quo in the waterway was challenged by foreign naval assets.

As long as we pursued matters on the battlefield and militarily, we stood firm, and today we stand firm as well, the Speaker affirmed. He stated that the Iranian military remains fully prepared on the ground to respond to any mistakes made by the opposing side. Ghalibaf also criticized American foreign policy, asserting that it continues to prioritize external interests over its own stated “America First” objectives.
