Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Forest Department is advancing its green cover projects with the launch of the ‘Ek Ped Guru Ke Naam’ program across all forest divisions on September 5. The effort builds upon momentum generated during the Paudharopan Mahayagya campaign earlier this summer, when state agencies recorded over 35.27 crore saplings planted in a single day, surpassing official targets. Forest officials affirmed that the upcoming activities reflect a continuing strategy to establish distinct environmental zones dedicated to specific cultural and civic themes.
The current year’s environmental calendar has incorporated a diverse range of specialized initiatives, including Van Yoga drives, Rakshabandhan Vatika, Mission Chhaya, and Expressway plantations. Officials declared that the Teacher’s Day events will focus on localized involvement, combining educational recognition with active conservation work. Preparations in key urban centers and regional divisions remain fully underway to support coordinated planting sessions throughout the day.
