Lucknow: Revenue generated through Uttar Pradesh’s excise sector rose by ₹2,457.90 crore during the first five months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period in the previous term. Departmental tracking logged steady receipts across the spring and summer months, including ₹5,248.06 crore in April, ₹5,387.63 crore in May, ₹5,173.87 crore in June, and ₹5,052.86 crore in July, culminating in ₹3,933.10 crore recorded for August. The steady intake leaves the department on course toward its designated annual revenue benchmark.

Parallel enforcement drives focused on inspecting distribution points and shutting down unauthorized production units statewide. Field teams conducted localized searches across several regions, including Sultanpur, where contraband items and fermented mash were seized and destroyed during routine checks. Department leadership maintained that combining strict legal compliance with digitized tracking tools has streamlined operations, ensuring public safety measures remain aligned with state fiscal targets.
