Chandigarh, Oct 18: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to travel to Punjab on October 20 to review state matters and interact with local leadership, according to statements by party leaders.
BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu affirmed that the Home Minister’s visit comes at a crucial juncture as the state continues its efforts against drug abuse. Bittu declared that strong leadership and collective resolve are essential to protect Punjab’s youth and reclaim its future.
This marks the Home Minister’s second visit to the state in recent weeks, following his address at the conclusion of a drug-free awareness initiative in Jalandhar late last month.
Sources indicated that during the visit, the Home Minister may meet the family of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota in Mansa, as well as the families of Bikramjit Singh and Gulzar Singh. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier sought official reports regarding recent incidents involving the activists, reflecting central attention on law and order developments across the state.
