Five Killed in High-Speed Collision on Delhi-Agra Highway

by TheReportingTimes

Faridabad, June 7 – A deadly collision between two vehicles near the JCB Cut on the Delhi-Agra National Highway claimed five lives and left one person critically injured in the early hours of Saturday.

The crash occurred around 3 a.m. when a Hector SUV traveling from Palwal collided with an Ertiga car carrying JCB company employees returning home after night duty. The impact was so severe that the Ertiga’s bonnet caught fire, police said.

“The collision appears to have been caused by high speed, and possibly low visibility at that hour,” said an officer from Sector-58 police station, which responded swiftly to the scene.

Three of the Ertiga’s occupants—Himanshu, Tarvendra, and Manish—were pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. They were all employed with JCB. The driver of the Hector SUV also died in the crash. Two others were rushed to the ICU in critical condition; one later succumbed to injuries.

Police, with help from locals, worked to extract the victims from the mangled vehicles. “We’re investigating the circumstances leading to the collision,” the officer added. A case has been registered.

This stretch of the highway is known for high-speed traffic, and officials say poor lighting may have also contributed to the tragedy.
