NEW DELHI, July 9 — The Delhi government has withdrawn a ₹60 lakh tender related to the renovation of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s official residence, citing administrative reasons, official documents have revealed.
The tender, floated by the Public Works Department (PWD), included proposals for the installation of 14 air conditioners, televisions, and other electrical fixtures at the CM’s residence on Raj Niwas Marg.
Chief Minister Gupta has been allotted two bungalows by the PWD — one designated as her official residence and the other as a camp office, which she inaugurated last week.
While no official statement was issued by the CM’s office, sources within the administration said the decision to cancel the renovation plan was taken to “avoid unnecessary expenditure” and pending a reassessment of essential works.
The move comes amid heightened scrutiny of government spending and political attention on public office perks.
