Amritsar, Sept 14 — Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Punjab on Monday morning to assess the situation in flood-ravaged districts, where thousands of families have been displaced and farmlands submerged.
As per the schedule, Gandhi will land at Amritsar airport at 9:30 am and proceed to Ramdas, where he will meet flood-affected families and pay obeisance at Gurdwara Baba Buddha Sahib Ji. He will also interact with devotees serving at the Gurdwara and review ongoing relief measures with the administration and local organisations.
Later in the day, Gandhi is scheduled to visit villages in Gurdaspur to directly engage with residents, understand their immediate needs and take stock of damage to homes and crops. He will return to Delhi by evening.
Punjab has witnessed severe flooding in recent days, disrupting lives and livelihoods across several districts. Relief and rescue operations are under way, with food, medicines and other essentials being distributed to affected families.
