New Delhi, Nov 28: An Air India flight bound for Ahmedabad returned to Delhi Thursday evening after a smoke warning in the cargo hold, officials said.
Flight AI2939, an Airbus A320 with about 170 passengers on board, was diverted shortly after take-off. “After thorough precautionary checks, the smoke indication was confirmed to be false,” a spokesperson said.
The aircraft followed standard safety procedures, landing safely at Delhi airport. Passengers and crew were disembarked and later flown to Ahmedabad on another plane, the official said.
No injuries or technical issues were reported, and the airline confirmed that all safety protocols were properly followed.
