Kapurthala, August 14: The district unit of the Mahila Congress in Kapurthala faces organizational realignment following the expulsion of its long-serving president, Sangeeta Dhir, over alleged misconduct. Party leadership in the state cited repeated complaints regarding actions detrimental to organizational unity as the primary reason for her immediate removal from the post and primary membership.
Rejecting the rationale behind the decision, Dhir asserted that untrue reports were conveyed to senior state leaders by internal detractors seeking to undermine dedicated cadres.
Sidelining committed grassroots workers in favour of those who merely flatter leaders could ultimately harm the organisation, Sangeeta Dhir asserted, adding that she served the party faithfully for nearly three decades before being treated in a painful manner.
The outgoing leader also questioned the transparency of the disciplinary process, highlighting discrepancies in the dates on the official expulsion letter leaked to the media. While state office-bearers maintain that the action was necessary to enforce organizational discipline, the decision continues to draw widespread attention across district political circles.
