Murder inside Rose Garden toilet

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, Nov 29: A woman was discovered slain inside a public toilet at Chandigarh’s Rose Garden on Friday, triggering a major investigation as police work to confirm her identity and track the killer.

Police reached the spot shortly after 3:45 p.m. and cordoned off the area. DSP (Central) Dalbir Singh Bhinder said officers were “examining the crime scene thoroughly” and gathering forensic samples.

The woman, estimated to be in her early thirties, had a sharp injury around her neck and was found in a pool of blood. Officials said the nature of the wound suggests a stabbing. The body was later shifted to GMSH-16 for autopsy.

“We are not ruling out any motive right now,” a police official said, adding that teams were scanning CCTV feeds from the garden and nearby roads to track any suspicious movement.

The killing has unsettled visitors and residents, many of whom raised concerns about inadequate surveillance and the lack of patrols in public spaces.
