Jaipur, Dec. 2 — A resident of Ferozepur, Punjab, was arrested by Rajasthan CID for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s ISI, officials said.
Prakash Singh, 34, was detained near the Sadulwali military station in Sriganganagar on November 27. He was later charged under the Official Secrets Act, 1923. “Our surveillance revealed Singh’s active communication with Pakistani handlers through social media,” Inspector General Prafful Kumar said.
Kumar explained that Singh had been collecting sensitive information about army installations, vehicles, bridges, railway lines, and construction projects across Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat. “He has reportedly been in contact with the ISI since Operation Sindoor,” Kumar added.
The CID said Singh was also allegedly involved in creating Indian WhatsApp accounts for Pakistani operatives, using OTPs obtained from Indian mobile numbers. “These accounts were used for espionage, and Singh received payments for his role,” the officer said.
Following detailed questioning and technical analysis at the Jaipur interrogation centre, officials confirmed Singh’s involvement. “Further investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of his activities,” Kumar said.
Authorities noted that this arrest is part of a series of actions against suspected spies in border districts, with six arrests reported since March in Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Alwar.
