Hisar, Jan 15: Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini urged agricultural scientists to prioritize research into low-cost, high-profit technologies to help Haryana’s farmers adapt to a globalized market. Speaking at the Hisar-based agricultural university, the Chief Minister noted that the state has already taken decisive legal steps to protect farmers, including the passage of a strict law aimed at halting the sale of spurious seeds.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the government’s current action plan includes promoting natural farming and expanding water conservation through the “Mera Pani-Meri Virasat” scheme. He noted that for the policies to be truly successful, the benefits must reach the ground level directly.
“Today’s youth want to farm with new technologies, therefore, it is necessary to direct agricultural research as per their expectations,” the Chief Minister said.
Authorities noted that the 2025-26 budget saw an allocation of over Rs 9,296 crore for agriculture and allied departments. Saini assured the gathered stakeholders that the suggestions received this year were even more visionary and would be seriously considered for the upcoming budget arrangements to ensure continued growth in the rural economy.
