Patiala, July 1: A new development and relief framework was finalized in Nabha today as the local municipal council approved consecutive measures targeting public infrastructure and community healthcare. The civic panel concluded its first administrative meeting by establishing a standardized financial assistance protocol for canine attack survivors while simultaneously authorizing a significant road building project to resolve a long-standing merchant dispute.
The financial relief package will distribute ten thousand rupees to each of the thirteen citizens who suffered injuries from stray animals across various wards. Executive officials declared that the disbursements were approved in strict accordance with the policy framework mandated by the High Court guidelines. Legal and administrative representatives maintained that the unanimous decision by the sitting council members ensures that the local government takes full responsibility for public safety vulnerabilities under the current municipal bylaws.
The council also approved a ninety-six lakh rupee infrastructure package to rebuild the heavily damaged transit corridor connecting Duladi Gate to the Alouharan Gate Market. The road work had remained suspended for several months following the installation of underground sewerage systems, leading to intense public demonstrations and blockades by nearby market associations. Civic chiefs asserted that passing this road construction resolution during the very first assembly honors the explicit promises given to local business owners during earlier public grievances sessions.
The operational layout of the initial session required careful procedural management due to a noticeable lack of participation from the newly elected political lineup. Out of twenty-three total council seats, thirteen members remained away from the assembly hall, with the newly designated council president, Jagdeep Singh Khanna, among those missing. Senior administrative staff asserted that because the formal official notification for the top office is currently pending, the session proceeded legally under the leadership of Senior Vice President Harpreet Singh to prevent any delays in public welfare funding.
