Chandigarh, Feb 3: Government schools in Dhanas face urgent renovation orders after a surprise inspection by top education department leadership found broken infrastructure and faulty water systems.
Secretary School Education Prerna Puri and Director School Education Nitish Singla personally toured the campuses of RC-1, RC-2, and RC-3 Government Model High Schools. The review focused on the quality of student facilities, ranging from the state of the playgrounds to the hygiene levels of the premises.
The inspection team mentioned that several water purifiers were out of order and noted that playgrounds required immediate maintenance. These shortcomings prompted a formal directive to the school leadership to fix all identified issues before the end of the month.
According to a government commune, “The heads/principals of the schools concerned were directed to ensure rectification of the deficiencies within 15 days, failing which personal accountability would be fixed.”
Beyond checking the physical assets, the officials engaged in dialogue with the school community to discuss academic practices. These discussions focused on the effective use of school resources and addressing the specific requirements voiced by the teachers and students on-site.
