CHANDIGARH, Sept 26 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann maintained that the state’s economic landscape is undergoing significant transformation, supported by ₹1.89 lakh crore in proposed industrial investments over four years.
Addressing departmental officials, the Chief Minister stated that the multi-sector expansion spans traditional strengths like agriculture, textiles, and engineering, while accelerating growth in renewable energy, auto components, and technology infrastructure.
Data indicates that Mohali and Ludhiana jointly accounted for 49.8 per cent of total proposals processed through Common Application Forms. The Chief Minister stated that Mohali’s expanding technology and innovation ecosystem positions the city to develop into a primary technology engine for the region.
“Our industrial policy is not merely about attracting investment figures. The real objective is to translate investment into jobs, entrepreneurship, higher incomes and better opportunities for Punjab’s youth,” Chief Minister Mann declared.
He affirmed that the state government will maintain its role as an active facilitator, offering policy stability, transparent procedures, and modern infrastructure to sustain long-term economic growth across all districts.
