CHANDIGARH, SEPT 26 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced a high-level review meeting with the newly appointed seven-member coordination committee to discuss the implementation strategy for the ‘Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026’.
The session, scheduled for September 27 at the Chief Minister’s residence, will bring together religious dignitaries, former judicial officers, and administrative experts. Committee members include Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, Sant Giani Harnaam Singh Khalsa, Sant Baba Sewa Singh, former Justice Jaswinder Singh, former Justice Gurbir Singh, former IPS officer Jatinder Singh Aulakh, and Advocate S. Preet Inder Paul Singh.
Addressing the purpose of the gathering, state officials declared that the committee is mandated to examine the operational aspects of the legislation while maintaining continuous dialogue with the panel formed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
“The meeting assumes significance as the committee is tasked with deliberating on matters concerning the provisions and implementation of the legislation,” an official spokesperson stated.
Government representatives affirmed that the initiative reflects the state’s resolve to uphold institutional sanctity through seamless coordination between statutory authorities and religious leadership.
