Amritsar, Feb 22: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, the Chief Spokesperson for the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, today challenged the moral authority of Sukhbir Singh Badal to lecture the current administration on governance. Speaking in Amritsar, Dhaliwal stated that the SAD president is following a path of hypocrisy that mimics the self-serving politics of the past.
During the address, Dhaliwal declared that the Akali Dal’s recent claims of wanting to demolish the infrastructure of gangsters are inconsistent with their actions. He asserted that the party had openly sought votes linked to individuals with criminal backgrounds in regions like Tarn Taran. “You cannot claim to be a savior of the people while attending the family functions of those who have disrupted peace in the state,” Dhaliwal asserted, noting that the public remembers the affiliations of the SAD leadership.
The spokesperson also raised the issue of accountability toward the Sikh community, specifically regarding irregularities within the SGPC. Dhaliwal affirmed that the silence of the Badal family on the missing saroops and land sale allegations is an insult to the sentiments of the Sangat. He stated that these are not merely political talking points but serious matters of faith that require transparent answers rather than routine denials.
Dhaliwal further maintained that the Shiromani Akali Dal has lost its footing across Punjab, leading to a exodus of veteran leaders. He declared that the current leadership has failed to stand up for Punjab’s interests on the national stage, specifically regarding farmers’ concerns. Concluding the session, Dhaliwal maintained that the era of misleading the youth for political mileage has ended, and the people of Punjab demand a clear account of past actions before any new promises are made.
