Surrey Police seek public assistance following deportation of extortion suspect

Authorities offer $250,000 reward for information on violent criminal syndicates

Surrey, Feb 24: The Surrey Police Service is appealing for public help to dismantle local extortion networks after the recent deportation of Lovebir Singh, a 22-year-old accused of criminal activity. Although Singh has been sent back to India, investigators released his photograph to better understand his movements and connections during his two-year stay in Canada.

The investigation into Singh began in early 2026 when he was flagged as a suspect in several extortion cases. After reviewing evidence provided by local police, the Canada Border Services Agency moved forward with an immigration-based investigation, resulting in his deportation.

SPS officials declared that sharing the suspect’s likeness is a strategic effort to gather intelligence on his associates. They asserted that public input is vital to uncovering the full extent of the violent networks behind these crimes.

“The force hopes the move will prompt witnesses, victims or associates to come forward with information about Lovebir’s activities,” the SPS noted in a statement.

Authorities affirmed that significant financial rewards are available for those who assist the investigation. The Surrey Extortion Reward Fund may provide up to $250,000 for tips that lead to successful prosecution.

Anyone who interacted with Singh since his arrival in late 2023 or has knowledge of his activities is urged to call the Surrey Extortion Tip Line or the SPS directly. Anonymous tips are also being accepted through Crime Stoppers.
