Islamabad, March 3: Pakistan’s military offensive against Afghan Taliban raids has led to the deaths of 67 additional combatants overnight, bringing the total reported casualties to over 500 since the launch of Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq on February 26. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar affirmed on Tuesday that security forces are effectively targeting cross-border aggression through both ground defenses and precision air strikes.

The minister maintained that the overnight successes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have dealt a significant blow to the insurgency. He stated that in the Balochistan sector alone, troops engaged the Taliban at 25 different fire raid locations. These latest figures follow a Monday statement in which Tarar asserted that 435 combatants had been killed previously, with 188 tanks and armored vehicles destroyed by Pakistani forces.

Military sources affirmed that the destruction of the Khogani base in Nangarhar province marks a major setback for the “Fitna al-Khawarij” and affiliated groups. Tarar declared that 31 Afghan posts have been captured so far, and 51 locations across the border have been successfully targeted from the air.

“The attacks at all the locations were repulsed,” Tarar affirmed, noting that the military remains on high alert. He asserted that the government is committed to neutralizing the threat of unprovoked aggression along the international border.
