Chandigarh, March 3: The Haryana government has unveiled a multi-dimensional budget for 2026-27, stressing skill development for youth and enhanced safety for women through innovative transport schemes. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that the new budget allocates ₹100 crore specifically to strengthen fire-fighting systems across all government health facilities to ensure patient safety.

In a move to make medicines more accessible, the Chief Minister declared that AMRIT pharmacy stores will be opened in all 23 district hospitals. He also affirmed the establishment of two new drug testing labs in Panchkula and Karnal. For the youth, the budget proposes five new hostels in Karnal, Hisar, Rohtak, Gurugram, and Palwal, alongside two “hub-and-spoke” ITI clusters in Sonepat and Kurukshetra under the PM-SETU initiative.

The AYUSH sector received a boost with ₹135 crore earmarked for a research and training building at Shri Krishna AYUSH University. Saini maintained that 25 new AYUSH dispensaries will be spread across five districts. Furthermore, 30 percent of seats in three new state entrepreneurship development institutes will be reserved for women to foster independent business ownership.

“Counsellors will be appointed at every Community Health Centre to provide services at the facility and visit local schools,” the Chief Minister declared. He asserted that the establishment of 17 new primary health centres across the state, including in Gurugram and Faridabad, would bridge the gap in rural healthcare access. Saini also stated that construction for several new hospital buildings in Jhajjar and Charkhi Dadri is slated to begin this year.
