Healthcare Boost for Sangrur as CM Opens New Mother and Child Block

Dhuri hospital upgraded to 80-bed capacity with advanced surgical facilities

Dhuri, March 18: To enhance public health services, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann dedicated an expanded 80-bed hospital complex to the people of Dhuri on Tuesday. The facility includes a specialized 30-bedded Maternal and Child Health Block designed to provide comprehensive neonatal and maternal care. The Chief Minister affirmed that this evolution from a smaller facility to a modern 80-bed hospital reflects the continuous efforts of the government to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that the new facility includes 13 OPD rooms, a well-equipped emergency block, and advanced surgical units, including services for knee replacements. He asserted that specialist doctors, particularly in the field of ear, nose, and throat, will now be available to provide expert care locally. The Chief Minister maintained that all essential treatments and diagnostic tests for mothers and children will be provided without any charges, ensuring financial constraints do not hinder medical access.

The Chief Minister stated that the government has invested over ₹300 crore in the procurement of medicines and equipment to support these enhanced services. He affirmed that the addition of private rooms and general wards within the 73,000-square-foot complex is designed to improve operational efficiency and patient comfort. Mann declared that the presence of an ESI dispensary within the hospital will also continue to benefit workers in the region.

Concluding his address, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that the project will serve over 58,000 residents in Dhuri and thousands more in the surrounding rural areas. He maintained that the state’s healthcare reforms, including the recruitment of nearly 900 general doctors and the provision of substantial health insurance coverage, are transforming the medical landscape. The Chief Minister affirmed that the goal remains to provide accessible and high-quality healthcare to every household in the state.
