Nuh, May 5: A routine journey for five Uttar Pradesh Police personnel ended in tragedy on Tuesday when their SUV crashed on the KMP Expressway under the Tauru Sadar police station limits. The officers were en route to Palwal from Jalaun when their vehicle became involved in a fatal collision near the Dhulawat toll plaza.
Preliminary investigations by Haryana authorities suggest that the SUV lost stability during a high-speed overtaking attempt. The resulting collision with another vehicle caused catastrophic damage to the Mahindra Scorpio, leading to the immediate death of all five personnel inside.
“Initial investigations confirmed that all the deceased were Uttar Pradesh Police personnel posted in Jalaun,” stated SHO Shish Ram Yadav. He asserted that the impact of the collision left the SUV nearly unrecognizable, complicating the initial rescue and recovery operations.
Following the 10:30 a.m. accident, emergency responders were deployed to the expressway to manage the scene and redirect traffic. Police officials noted that the bodies had to be carefully removed from the mangled wreckage before being transported for further formalities.
The Jalaun Superintendent of Police has been informed of the incident as the Nuh district police continue their technical investigation. Officials declared that the focus of the probe remains on the high speed of the vehicle and the sequence of events leading up to the loss of control near the toll plaza.
