New Delhi, May 13: The Central Bureau of Investigation has intensified its crackdown on the NEET-UG paper leak case, detaining five suspects and launching coordinated raids across India. The agency took over the case on Tuesday and has since focused on suspects located in Jaipur, Gurugram, and Nashik.
Investigating teams stated that they are working to trace the digital footprint of the leak. Several mobile devices and computers were confiscated during the raids and have been sent for specialized analysis. The CBI affirmed that it aims to uncover the messaging applications used to circulate the examination papers prior to the test date.
“The CBI remains committed to conducting a comprehensive, impartial and professional investigation into the matter,” the agency stated. Officials maintained that the probe involves a detailed review of the examination process, leading investigators to the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters on Wednesday to collect relevant records and interview staff involved in the test administration.
The agency declared that the arrest of Shubham Khairnar in Nashik was a significant development, following coordination between the Rajasthan and Nashik police forces. The CBI asserted that the investigation is gathering momentum as teams analyze leads provided by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group. Authorities maintained that the goal is to dismantle the entire network responsible for compromising the integrity of the national medical entrance exam.
