Patiala, August 13: Thousands of pilgrims assembled at the Dargah of Sanjha Peer Baba Hazur Hazrat Inayat Shahwali Chishti Ji in Patiala on Thursday to observe the annual Bhandara and Urs celebrations. The revered site witnessed continuous visits from early morning, with local volunteers organizing seamless arrangements for congregation management.
The day’s schedule began with dawn rituals led by current Gaddi Nashin Kuldeep Singh, followed by the commencement of the public langar that ran continuously from mid-morning onwards. Ceremonial chadar offerings marked the evening proceedings as religious leaders and devotees gathered for collective prayers.
“The annual Urs continues to serve as a symbol of shared heritage and peace, drawing people from all walks of life,” shrine organizers affirmed during the evening ceremony.
Several high-profile political and social figures attended the event to offer prayers, including Senior Deputy Mayor Harinder Kohli, Youth Congress leader Mohit Mahindra, former Improvement Trust Chairman Indermohan Singh Bajaj, and social worker Dr. Rajesh Sharma. The shrine administration ensured dignified hospitality for all visiting dignitaries and pilgrims throughout the event.
