NEW DELHI, May 15 — Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has pledged to restore the integrity of the medical entrance system, stating that a “zero error” examination process remains the government’s ultimate responsibility. During an address on Friday, the Minister outlined logistical support measures for the 22 lakh aspirants set to appear for the NEET-UG re-examination on June 21.

To mitigate the impact on students, Pradhan announced that state governments would be requested to coordinate transport arrangements, particularly as the re-test coincides with the monsoon season. He affirmed that the NTA will ensure admit cards reach all candidates by June 14. The Minister also reiterated that the transition to a digital, computer-based testing model next year is a necessary step to combat evolving cyber crimes and paper leak threats.

“Zero error is our responsibility, but this challenge is also changing with technology and cyber crime,” the Minister asserted. He stated that the government acted swiftly once the breach was confirmed on June 12 to ensure that the “social evil” of paper leaks does not compromise the merit-based selection of future doctors.

Regarding the ongoing investigation, the Minister maintained that the CBI is conducting a thorough sweep of the networks involved. He acknowledged the concerns raised by public figures regarding specific testing centers in Sikar, Rajasthan, affirming that all suspicious data is under scrutiny. Pradhan concluded by urging students to ignore social media rumors and focus on their preparations, declaring that the government is committed to a transparent and fair re-test.
