Police Urged to Arrest Creators of Fake Video

Ruling party submits forensic proof to DGP, links smear campaign to political desperation

Chandigarh June 19: The Aam Aadmi Party formalised its demand for a comprehensive criminal investigation into a manipulated video targeting the Chief Minister by submitting a detailed memorandum to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav. The high-level delegation urged the police department to track down every individual involved in the digital conspiracy, emphasizing that both the creators and those circulating the content must face prompt legal action.

The ruling party linked the current misinformation campaign to the political desperation of traditional rival factions. Representatives stated that the state’s progress under the current leadership has left opposition parties looking for unethical ways to regain lost political relevance.

Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that the public is well aware of the track record of past leaderships regarding state security and communal harmony.

“Conspiracy to defame CM Bhagwant Singh Mann through fabricated video will not be tolerated at any cost,” the Minister affirmed.

He declared that the government remains firm in its resolve to dismantle criminal networks and maintain absolute peace across the state.

The Minister noted that previous regimes oversaw significant administrative failures, including the mishandling of sensitive religious matters at Nakodar in 1986 and subsequent cases in 2015. He asserted that those who previously institutionalized administrative irregularities are now attempting to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of Punjab. He concluded by stating that the police have been given full authority to investigate the origin of the video, promising that all conspirators, whether based locally or abroad, will be brought to justice.
