Faridkot, June 29: The ongoing resistance against the Anti-Beadbi Act by Akali leaders stems directly from their knowledge that they will have to pay for past misdeeds, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared during a Lok Milni event in Faridkot on Sunday. The Chief Minister asserted that these political figures had previously collaborated with the very forces behind the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and are now desperate to shield themselves from justice.

The Chief Minister noted that the state has witnessed an educational transformation, with recent NITI Aayog data ranking Punjab as the top-performing state in primary and middle school education, ahead of Kerala, Maharashtra, and Delhi. He explained that systematic upgrades, teacher training, and smart classrooms have successfully converted schools into genuine educational hubs over the last four years.

Critiquing the lifestyles of opposition figures, the Chief Minister said, “These royal leaders have nothing in common with ordinary people. Their cars, overcoats, wardrobes and lifestyle have no resemblance with ours. These parties have no agenda except to plunder the wealth of the state and exploit the common man.”

The Chief Minister further stated that the administration has successfully provided more than 68,000 corruption-free government jobs to youth and closed multiple toll plazas to save citizens ₹70 lakh daily. He maintained that the government remains fully accessible to the public around the clock, unlike traditional politicians who remained detached from the electorate.

Reflecting on the significance of the new legal protections, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The state government has drafted this legislation carefully so that no future amendments or loopholes weaken it. Earlier, people escaped punishment by claiming that their mind was disturbed or that they were mentally ill.”

The gathering also featured addresses and presence from Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan and other senior state dignitaries.
