Amritsar, June 29: The Punjab government will host free state-wide screenings of the acclaimed theatrical production ‘Hamare Ram’ starting August 1 to encourage cultural awareness, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal declared on Sunday. The announcement was shared during a major devotional assembly in Amritsar, where leaders affirmed that while the production carried high premium access fees elsewhere, the citizens of Punjab will be provided entry completely free of charge.
The devotional event, headlined by renowned artist Hansraj Raghuvanshi, marks the second installment of the ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shivji Ke Naam’ initiative following its initial launch in Jalandhar. The party leadership declared that these devotional assemblies will be progressively organized across all 22 cities in the state to provide citizens an opportunity to unite in shared celebrations.
Detailing the purpose behind these public programs, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “We organised this programme because, amid the demands of daily life, people rarely get an opportunity to come together in devotion. Punjab’s soil is so fertile that every seed grows here, except the seed of hatred. We celebrate Ram Navami, Gurpurabs, Hanuman Jayanti, the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj, Eid and every other festival together.”
The Chief Minister stated that the administration functions with a firm focus on harmonious co-existence, noting that Amritsar represents a unique global symbol of brotherhood where people of all faiths seamlessly visit Sri Harmandir Sahib, the Durgiana Temple, and Jallianwala Bagh. He maintained that alongside preserving places of worship, the government is successfully generating employment, securing livelihood models, and advancing regional industrial growth.
The leadership group concluded the briefing by reviewing the fast-paced architectural upgrades being executed at historical shrines across districts. The spiritual evening concluded with community prayers joined by senior state organizers and regional administrative representatives.
