Vietnam, July 11: A tragic boating accident near Phu Quoc Island has claimed the lives of 15 Indian tourists after their vessel rolled over during a weekend coastal excursion. Emergency services have concluded the initial phase of their retrieval tasks, accounting for 32 international travellers and four crew members caught in the sudden maritime wreck.

The vessel capsized completely while traversing a regular tourist route from Hon May Rut Island to An Thoi Port amidst deteriorating sea conditions. Though weather radars recorded no immediate rain, heavy swells tossed the speedboat off balance just a short distance from the shoreline. Local administrative teams confirmed that 21 individuals managed to survive the initial impact and are currently receiving emergency medical triaging.

Diplomatic teams have quickly reordered their administrative priorities to establish continuous communication lines for families seeking information from India. The Indian Embassy has deployed dedicated staff to handle calls at multiple phone channels in both Ho Chi Minh City and the national capital network.

Foreign relations officials stated that the main focus remains on managing the crisis alongside Vietnamese emergency coordinators. An official embassy dispatch declared that a boat carrying several Indian tourists had capsized, noting that the exact details surrounding the sequence of events are still being thoroughly established by regional police commands.

The quick arrival of neighboring commercial vessels helped prevent a significantly higher casualty figure. A maritime rescuer who reached the scene shortly after the vessel flipped asserted that nearby boats rushed before border guards could mobilize. He declared that the rough sea conditions made maneuvering dangerous, adding that workers had to struggle against the trapped hull configuration to extract victims from the submerged cabins.

Investigations into possible structural overloading or safety protocol violations are expected to commence immediately. Indian authorities maintained that administrative teams will remain stationed at regional medical facilities to verify the wellbeing of the rescued passengers and handle the necessary protocols for the deceased.
