Chandigarh, August 26: In a major institutional restructuring for state-run education, the Punjab Government has resolved long-pending pay disparities for Adarsh School educators by approving a salary increase of over 120 percent. The decision elevates monthly pay scales from approximately 10,000 rupees to more than 22,000 rupees, impacting around 1,100 teaching staff across the state.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that strengthening the educational framework depends directly on supporting the teaching personnel who drive it. He asserted that the government will continue to safeguard the interests of teachers because securing the future of every student begins with empowering educators. He maintained that previous governments had overlooked the teaching fraternity, declaring that the current decision rights a multi-decade issue.
The revised framework also introduces service facilities structured on the Kendriya Vidyalaya system for teachers handling over 15,000 students enrolled in CBSE-affiliated Adarsh Schools.
During the delegation interaction in Chandigarh, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann maintained that the administration remains committed to the welfare of all societal sections. He stated that every genuine demand of the Adarsh School teachers was addressed to enable them to perform their duties hassle-free. He declared that creating a secure working environment directly translates into higher academic standards for students across the state.
The delegation meeting was attended by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Ravi Bhagat, and Secretary School Education Sonali Giri.
