Gurugram, July 11: Four suspected gang shooters, including a teenage javelin athlete, were killed late Thursday night during a massive shootout with the Gurugram Police Crime Branch. The encounter erupted when an armed five-member unit belonging to the Deepak Nandal syndicate launched a brazen extortion attack on a local businessman’s residence. The suspects fired roughly two dozen rounds at the house, terrorizing the businessman, his wife, and a relative who were trapped inside.
The standard protocol of the tracking police team allowed them to trap the gang just as the assault commenced. When ordered to stand down, the operatives turned their weapons toward the police, triggering an intense exchange of approximately 65 bullets that left four shooters dead and one heavily guarded survivor. Three Crime Branch officers were also hospitalized with injuries sustained during the fierce crossfire.
Senior police officials declared that a sweeping inquiry into the gang’s supply lines has commenced following the recovery of five automatic pistols, three of which are foreign-made. Gurugram Police are preparing a comprehensive media briefing to detail the operations of the overseas syndicate, its domestic arms supply, and the broader extortion racket.
Intelligence gathered after the clash revealed a highly localized recruitment network operating within the state. Investigators affirmed that three of the dead shooters hailed from Baland village in Rohtak district, pointing to a targeted grooming pipeline. Among them was the minor, Aryan, an athlete who split his time between schooling, javelin practice, and working as a bike mechanic before his recent recruitment into the syndicate. The remaining deceased suspect was traced back to Fatehabad district, whereas the wounded survivor, Shivam, originates from Mewat and is currently facing critical charges under tight security.
