LUDHIANA, JUNE 22 — National BJP President Nitin Nabin has wrapped up his regional tour ahead of schedule, heading back to New Delhi on Monday afternoon to attend pressing internal deliberations. The abrupt departure led to the cancellation of his highly anticipated visit to Chandigarh, where he was expected to participate in a series of courtesy meetings and interactive dinners with prominent state figures.
According to the original itinerary, the party chief was expected to meet Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and later attend an evening reception hosted by state unit chief Kewal Dhillon. However, all scheduled activities in Chandigarh were set aside to ensure the president’s presence at key structural review sessions alongside national leaders in New Delhi.
Sources within the organization affirmed that the leadership transition and structural updates have been under active consideration since mid-June, waiting primarily for the conclusion of high-profile global and domestic events led by the Prime Minister. The administration declared that the pending updates to the organizational framework are expected to be made public very shortly.
“Some organisational review meetings are said to be scheduled in Delhi later on Monday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is back from his G7 engagements and is also free,” a senior party official stated. “A meeting of the BJP and RSS on June 15 had broadly endorsed the re-organisation plans.”
Despite the curtailed schedule, the national leader utilized his final hours in Ludhiana to engage with the state’s academic community regarding the regional agricultural sector. He met with prominent agricultural scientist Sardara Singh Johl to evaluate the structural issues affecting Punjab’s farming economy before heading to the airport.
