CHANDIGARH, August 29: A policy dispute over traditional headwear has drawn sharp criticism online following an incident where two Indian men were turned away from a hospitality venue in Salzburg, Austria.
According to accounts shared on social media platforms, the guests were informed upon arrival that turbans were strictly prohibited under the property’s official dress code. Jaspreet Singh, a resident of Mohali who had booked the stay, asserted that management upheld the entry restriction without offering flexibility or returning the paid booking amount.
Jaspreet affirmed that he has frequented multiple countries worldwide without facing similar hurdles regarding his religious attire. Hotel representatives maintained that the headwear guidelines were explicitly published online. However, the aggrieved guest declared that enforcing entry bans based on religious articles remains fundamentally discriminatory, regardless of refund claims.
