Medical Association Requests Expedited Processing of Healthcare Reimbursements

One-Day Service Pause Announced as Private Hospitals Highlight Claims Backlog

by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH, September 2: The Indian Medical Association Haryana unit has called for an expedited review of pending Ayushman Bharat insurance clearances to support operational continuity at private medical institutions. Representatives stated that delayed reimbursements have created administrative pressures for facilities delivering paneled care across the state.

Addressing the issue, Dr. Ajay Mahajan asserted that state healthcare providers are seeking a formal schedule to clear pending claims estimated near ₹1,000 crore. The association declared a one-day suspension of scheme benefits on September 1, while maintaining regular healthcare services, to emphasize the need for systemic payment schedules.

Medical representatives declared that dialogue with health department officials remains essential to ensure uninterrupted patient care under public health programs. The association maintained that resolving administrative backlogs will strengthen public-private healthcare partnerships and restore smooth operational flows across paneled hospitals.
