Faridkot, Sept 21: Catastrophe struck Koharwala village in Faridkot district after a 30-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband inside a neighbor’s residence, where she had gone to seek safety following a heated quarrel.
Investigating officers noted that the suspect and the victim, Sarabjit Kaur, regularly quarrelled over the husband’s alleged heavy drinking and abusive behavior. During a severe dispute on Saturday night, the victim attempted to escape the escalating threat by fleeing to an adjacent house in the neighborhood.
According to police sources, the accused pursued her, climbed onto the roof of the neighbor’s property to gain entry, and launched a lethal attack using a sharp-edged weapon. The victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Upon being alerted to the crime, local police secured the premises and transferred the mortal remains for forensic examination. Authorities maintained that active efforts are underway to complete the necessary investigative steps and bring the case to a conclusion.
