NEW DELHI — The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday called for an immediate review of recent administrative decisions taken by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing published media reports detailing internal notes written by Election Commissioners regarding decision-making protocols.
Speaking at a press conference, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated that reports highlighting communication from Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi indicate that several official directives were issued without formal full-commission consensus. He maintained that bypassing established institutional mechanisms undermines the foundational principles of free and fair democratic representation.
Kejriwal asserted that the Special Intensive Revision process, under which voter entries were updated across multiple states, should be scrapped due to procedural irregularities. He further declared that responsibility must be fixed regarding administrative changes that centralized voter database access away from field-level Electoral Registration Officers, calling on authorities to restore prior voter lists and ensure proper institutional oversight in future electoral exercises.
