Moga, Sept 28:Tragedy struck Badni Khurd village in Moga district on Sunday as two daily wage farm labourers lost their lives after touching a fallen high-tension electrical wire in an agricultural plot.
The victims, identified as Gurpreet Singh and Chand Singh from Raoke Kalan village, were navigating through a paddy field when they inadvertently encountered the live line, which had snapped earlier. Authorities indicated that both individuals, aged in their early thirties, received heavy electrical shocks and passed away immediately at the scene.
The sudden loss of the two young sole breadwinners has left the community of Raoke Kalan in deep mourning, with fellow villagers expressing shock over the unfortunate event.
Community members affirmed that power distribution infrastructure in rural agricultural belts requires prompt inspection to avoid such hazards, while local officials maintain that an inquiry into the snapped conductor line will be conducted as per regulatory standards.
