Chandigarh, Sept 13: State security agencies achieved a legal milestone this weekend as fugitive Amritpal Singh, known as Amrit Dalam, was brought back to India following legal proceedings in Eastern Europe. The suspect, associated with the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria group, was taken into custody by local authorities upon arrival in New Delhi.
Investigators noted that the suspect had previously departed the country using fraudulent travel documentation before being located near the Moldovan border. An Interpol Red Corner Notice issued at the request of state police initiated the legal requests that eventually led to local court orders approving the extradition transfer.
Law enforcement officials stated that dedicated units from the Anti-Gangster Task Force and the Overseas Fugitive Tracking Cell worked alongside central ministries and international partners to conclude the multi-stage operational procedure. The individual now remains in official custody as legal proceedings move forward
