CBI Executes Raids Across Punjab CMO Locations

Central agency registers FIR after High Court orders action on ED findings

by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, Oct 6: Investigators from the Central Bureau of Investigation launched multi-location searches across Chandigarh and neighboring districts on Tuesday, targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Camp Office and senior staff residences. The crackdown focuses on allegations of policy manipulation, illicit appointments, and preferential government tenders initially brought to light by the Enforcement Directorate.

The enforcement action follows directions from the Punjab and Haryana High Court ordering the CBI to register a case and investigate official misconduct after state police delayed action on prior ED disclosures. Teams examined premises associated with CM OSD Rajbir Ghuman in Gharachon and Mohali alongside the primary administrative camp office in Sector 2.

Reacting to the ongoing searches, the Chief Minister rejected the allegations and accused the central government of orchestrating political interference.

“The BJP is rattled by the love and support I am receiving from the people,” declared Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on social media, asserting that the raids represent a deliberate effort to damage his reputation prior to the 2027 election cycle.

Court observers noted that the court-ordered CBI intervention sets the stage for critical legal proceedings at the apex court level.

“The High Court’s direction ensures that allegations involving influential administrative posts are thoroughly scrutinized under federal oversight,” stated a senior advocate tracking the case.
